The Village Kenmore is in the south part of the Town of Tonawanda and borders the City of Buffalo, New York, which lies to the south. Together with Tonawanda, it is often referred to as Ken-Ton. The village is in the northwest part of Erie County.
History
The Village of Kenmore was incorporated in 1899 from part of the Town of Tonawanda.
Geography
Kenmore is located at 42°57′54″N, 78°52′18″W (42.964907, -78.871679).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.4 square miles (3.7 km²), all of it land.

Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there were 16,426 people, 7,071 households, and 4,235 families residing in the village. The population density was 11,437.2 people per square mile (4,404.2/km²). There were 7,459 housing units at an average density of 5,193.6/sq mi (2,000.0/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 96.85% White, 0.99% African American, 0.35% Native American, 0.58% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 0.35% from other races, and 0.83% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.30% of the population.
There were 7,071 households out of which 28.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 45.3% were married couples living together, 11.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 40.1% were non-families. 34.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 15.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.31 and the average family size was 3.04.
